CASSAZULU is presently stationed in the Joshua Tree area of the Californian high Desert. 

CASSAZULU  was founded in March 2024 as an answer to the collapsing of many of the big band venues, due to Covid. Both "John Zulu" and "Cassidy Sargent" are past members of the popular desert eight piece band called ZULLUU. 

JOHN WAS BROUGHT UP  the rural farming district of "Umtshezi" which in Zulu means the place of the Bushman or correctly known as the Koisan. Today, the local tribal language is mostly Zulu. Inevitably John has been influenced by the beautiful singing styles and harmonies of the Zulu peoples. As a result John writes songs in both English as well as some parts in Zulu. Giving CASSAZULU a rather unique and new sound backed by great harmonies vocals.

Presently, we have just finished a recording of a new song which fortunately been played on a local radio station. The rest of the time we are concentrating on building the CASSAZULU brand by playing live venues, like The Joshua Tree Saloon outdoor concert stage. "Morongo Daze" Spring and Autumn festivals. Las Palmas. The Palms. ArtTrap. The Desert Fox, to name few.
